The Light Program offers an intensive outpatient program that provides group therapy for individuals in crisis or struggling to function on a regular basis. Our treatment groups are intentionally kept small so that each member receives individualized attention.

Mental Health Conditions Treated with IOP

An intensive outpatient program is typically the next step for individuals who have received inpatient care or have completed a partial-hospitalization program for their mental health disorder. It can also serve as a preventative measure before a person pursues inpatient treatment. IOP therapy is able to treat a variety of mental health conditions, including:

  • Depression
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Anxiety
  • Panic attacks and panic disorder
  • Suicidal or homicidal thoughts
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Mood disorders
  • Personality disorders

The goal of this program is to offer more frequent support throughout the week than an outpatient counseling program. The flexibility of our IOP treatment schedule allows you to maintain employment and tend to responsibilities you may have at home, while receiving the care needed for your mental well-being.

Treatment Methods

The core IOP treatment method involves group therapy sessions—individual and family counseling sessions can be scheduled on an as-needed basis. The Light Program utilizes a variety of therapies, such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Group Processing
  • Skill-building exercises

Our counselors work to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that best meets your mental health needs. When medication is necessary, we will refer you to one of our psychiatrists.

Length of Intensive Outpatient Program

Group counseling sessions are held 4 days a week at our PA treatment centers. Each session lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes, providing more support and direction than traditional outpatient care.

The Light Program offers day, evening and weekend IOPs in several different office locations throughout southeastern Pennsylvania. Hours of programming vary between locations.
