Partial Hospitalization Program for Teens
Our Lansdale location offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for teens ages 14-18. PHP is designed for teens with a primary mental health diagnosis and works well for teens with a strong support system who have difficulty managing their symptoms. This may include generalized anxiety disorder, major depressive disorder, bipolar, OCD or PTSD. The treatment team will use a variety of interventions to address the mental health symptoms, through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and experiential techniques. In addition, our PHP program also implements holistic therapy into the individual's treatment through art therapy, music therapy, trauma-sensitive yoga and more.
Teens in our PHP will be able to meet with our psychiatric provider to discuss medications and express their thoughts on symptoms related to medication. Our PHP has a partnership with LearnWell to be a valuable resource for teens in maintaining continuity of schooling while in treatment. LearnWell is an licensed, private program of educators which coordinates with your child's school to help your child stay up to date with their schoolwork.
Intensive Outpatient Program for Adults, Teens and Younger Teens
Our Lansdale location offers Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for adults (ages 18+) and adolescents (ages 14-18). This program provides a more structured program than weekly counseling sessions with a therapist. The core IOP treatment method involves group therapy sessions—individual and family counseling sessions can be scheduled on an as-needed basis. The Light Program utilizes a variety of therapies, such as:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
- Motivational interviewing
- Group processing
- Skill-building exercises
Our counselors work to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that best meets the individual's mental health needs. When medication is necessary, we will refer the individual to one of our psychiatric providers. Our IOP is offered four days a week for two hours and 15 minutes.
Creative Arts Therapy IOP
This program is designed to offer mental health support to individuals who enjoy and/or benefit from exploring and expressing themselves through creative arts. The goal of this program is to provide a safe and collaborative environment for individuals to cultivate self-awareness, process through emotions and challenges, develop coping skills and empower themselves to reach their therapeutic goals through creative arts therapy interventions. This program will offer evidence-based treatment approaches that span a variety of creative arts disciplines, including music therapy, art therapy and dance/movement therapy.
This program is led by Masters-level, board certified creative arts therapists. Groups meet 4 days a week in the evenings for 2 hours and 15 minutes each. The groups are limited to 12 participants, to allow for individualized treatment. Clients in this program also have access to our psychiatric services.
Younger Teen IOP
In addition to our teen Intensive Outpatient Program, our Lansdale location also offers a younger teen Intensive Outpatient Program for those individuals between the ages of 12-14. A therapeutic group with similar-aged peers increases the likelihood of engagement and positive treatment outcomes. The focus of this group will be to develop healthy coping strategies in order to assist with the treatment of anxiety, adjustment disorders, social skills development and trauma. The treatment team will utilize a variety of interventions, through CBT, trauma-informed care, behavioral therapy and expressive therapy activities in order to support the individual in developing the appropriate set of skills. The goal of our younger teen IOP is to create a safe and supportive environment to address specific issues around the unique experience of transitioning into adolescence.
