The Light Program offers outpatient behavioral health treatment programs for both veterans and non-veterans. Although this is not strictly a veteran program, The Light Program’s staff understand military trauma and the unique challenges veterans face. Our team of professionals are equipped to care for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Attending mixed population therapy groups alongside non-veteran clients can be beneficial for recovery, helping clients to develop skills for re-integrating into civilian life after military service. Symptoms of PTSD in veterans look similar to those shown by individuals with non-military trauma, and the same treatment methods can be applied.

Veterans Affairs Community Care Network (VA-CCN)

The Light Program is a proud partner of the Veterans Affairs Community Care Network (VA-CCN).

The VA-CCN is comprised of facilities that are pre-approved to accept veteran benefits for behavioral healthcare, allowing more convenient and timely access to treatment. The Community Care Network (CCN) uses industry-standard guidelines to administer treatment and pay for services.

To access treatment through the VA-CCN and secure funding, you will need both an authorization from the VA and a doctor’s referral. These are usually obtained by visiting your home county VA office to make an appointment with your primary care doctor. Talk to your doctor about getting a referral to access the CCN for outpatient mental health treatment at The Light Program.

Please contact our admissions team if you’re a veteran who is not signed up for VA benefits or who needs assistance in accessing the CCN system. We understand how overwhelming or frustrating it can be to navigate the VA to access your benefits when you’re ready to take the next step in your recovery journey.

Our admissions specialists have expertise in navigating the VA-CCN system as well as extensive experience in working with veterans and the VA. If you require assistance with any part of the process or have questions, please reach out to the admissions team at The Light Program. We make it a priority to get veterans the treatment they need and deserve.

Unfortunately, not all veterans are eligible for coverage via the VA-CCN. The Light Program is in-network with most commercial insurance and accepts self-pay.
